Homemade Deodorant

Making your own homemade products is a blast. There are several ways to make homemade deodorant and even more reasons to consider this DIY approach. Many homemade deodorant recipes are cheaper than buying it in the store, some are even organic and eco-friendly and you will enjoy the end result..

Baking Soda Rub on Deodorant
Sprinkle a light covering of baking soda onto a damp washcloth. Pat on your underarms. OR rub baking soda into armpit. Don’t rinse off.



Herbal Tea Infusion Deodorant
make a very strong herbal tea of lovage, sage or other herb, bottle and use this with a cotton ball as a deodorant.

Basic Deodorant Powder
Ingredients:
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup corn flour
a few drops essential oils such as lavender or cinnamon, (cedar and sage for men)
Method:
Add ingredients in a glass jar and shake well. Sprinkle onto a damp washcloth and pat it under the arms. Do not rinse off.

Liquid Deodorant
Ingredients:
30-60mls alcohol (vodka)
6 drops of essential oil (of your choice)
30-60mls water
Method:
Mix together and use a cotton ball to apply or pour into spray bottle.

Alcohol Deodorant
Ingredients:
225ml rubbing alcohol
Method:
Pour into a spray bottle. Use as needed.


Cream Deodorant
Ingredients:
5 Tbsp. Coconut oil (solid)
1/4 – 3/8 cup of Baking Soda
1/4 – 3/8 cup of Cornstarch or Con starch powder
Essential oils of your choice (optional)
Method:
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until it forms a paste. You may need to adjust the powders to get the consistency you desire.Carefully spoon the mixture into your empty deodorant tubes and level the top. This may get a bit messy! Place them in a cool dry place but if you live in a place where the temp gets over 76 Fahrenheit degree then store in a fridge for a few minutes to harden if necessary.
