The List - My 2014 Book Challenge

This year I wanted to keep track of the books I read from early on. So I decided to challenge myself to read just 25 books because I knew more than that it will be very very hard to finish my goal. When I found myself I read different books (re-reads, novels, short stories, non-fiction, children’s books [for my daughter) and school books [for few students I mentor])  I decided to raise my goal to 75 books.

As today is the last day of April that is to say 1/3 of the year is gone so far. I sat down to review the books I have read this year towards my goal...

Here is the list of what I have read so far this year but  it was a little hard to put them together so from now on I think I will have to list them as I finish reading and create a simple tag for them ...

The Longest Ride

I read this book because I liked the Notebook so much but because of that I thought this one was not that good enough.

Pooh's Wishing Star

The Tea Party Book

Great recipes for your little ones

Dora's Favorite Fairy Tales

This book is very good. My mom used to tell us all these stories by heart and now this book is my daughter's favorite bedtime story book.

What Is Water?

I like this book because it explains in a simple language the three forms of water and that water can be hot or cold, odorless, tasteless etc. Keep ready the mind of your little kids in science class.

The Letters

Very heartfelt letters. Loosing a child can break a marriage but love and memories brought the couple together.

A Dime = 10¢

Great book to teach kids about money.

I Had a Great Time!

Many sight words and teach kids simple things that can help them to have funny.

Dinosaur Hunting

This is for kids but I learned so many things too..

7 Steps to Fearless Speaking

Nice and simple steps to take...

How to Make People Like You in 90 Seconds or Less

All are just common sense nothing new.

How to Be a People Magnet : Finding Friends--and Lovers--and Keeping Them for Life

Common sense things...I didn't learn anything new here..

Outliers: The Story of Success

2nd best book I read this year so far..This book will open your eyes...

I've Got Your Number

This is a funny little book...I like the way she was telling the story but I didn't like the story itself..

Quiet Influence: The Introvert's Guide to Making a Difference

1st best book I read this year so far. I learned so many things that they relate to me but I was not aware of...Why I like and dislike certain things...Good for extroverts too...

Biscuit Goes to School

Biscuit Visits the Big City

Biscuit Wants to Play

Curious George Flies a Kite

Inferno (Robert Langdon, #4)

No, I didn't like this book at all ...I thought because I liked the Da Vinci Code then I'd like this book but it was too boring, too many non essential details and he can't learn to write short books..

Henry and Mudge in the Sparkle Days (Henry and Mudge, #5)

Henry and Mudge in Puddle Trouble (Henry and Mudge, #2)

Henry and Mudge in the Green Time (Henry and Mudge, #3)

Little Polar Bear

The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream

This book is good because he wrote it before he was a president. I would like to read another one after his presidency and see his views if will be the same or why it seems hard to practical change all of the things he is talking in this book.. Quick note I didn't know he worked in Baskin Robbins until I read this book.....I worked in Baskin Robbins too while I was in college but the uniforms were different from the time he worked and the cost of working there for over three years is very high because all that mouthwatering ice cream and cakes not good for the teeth...:)

2014 - Facebook Marketing Guide for Authors: How to Promote Your Book on the World's Most Popular Social Network
Many things are practical applicable to any social network and not just the Facebook

Dora The Explorer: When I Grow Up

The Berenstain Bears Get the Gimmies

The Berenstain Bears and the Green-Eyed Monster

What's the best book you've read this year so far?
