Setting goals are important because it gives you clear direction. Setting goals enable you and your efforts focus and help to make wiser decisions. It gives you something to work towards so you’re never content with good enough. It motivates you, drives your efforts, shows your progress. It extends your reach so you can learn your limits.
Taking the time to set goals will help you to decide to spend your time and money on things that align with your values. Having goals clearly defined isn’t a magic pill, but it is a great motivator. Few questions to ask yourself when setting your goals are:- What do you want to do? Why do you want to do it? What will it mean to you? How will it make you feel? How you will get there?
There are two basic types of goals that are short term goals and long terms goals. Long term goals are those goals that will take months or years to achieves while short term goals are those goals that will take days to achieves. Short term goals are day to day goals.
After making a goal then what? Planning is a key direction to your goals. One of my favorite quote is "Goals without a plan are just a wish". Making goals are a challenge you set to yourself to achieve then you need plans to reach those goals. You can't make goals and sit down doing nothing and expect to reach your goals. First when you set your goals you need to set realist goals. You must be honest to yourself.
