The whole social networking experience has millions of people meeting new friends everyday on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and dozens other of similar sites. A friend is a friend and sometimes even close relations are not equal to a trusted friend.
An opportunist friend is someone whom always takes advantage of opportunities or circumstances. They are not scammers but they seek immediate advantage with no regard for consequences they can get into or other into.
Opportunist friends most of the time are taking advantage of someone so they can get sex, money, a place to live for free, a job, or fame. Pretty much anything that can satisfy them or gets them ahead in life. An opportunist person can not keep a set of friends and if they do, their friends are no different than they are.

So how would you differentiate a real friend from an opportunist friend?
1. Write/Call frequently
When you start to communicate with an opportunist friend whether online or on a phone an opportunist friend will write or call you back to back or very often. Sometimes twice a day you will receive a message from your new friend. Before you get time to reply to that message you may find yourself with couple more messages on hand with so many questions. Once you see that the chance is that your friend is an opportunist friend.
2. Too nice
They seem to be too nice at first but that is not their true nature. They just find their way in and will suddenly change out of blue to leave you with a feeling of being taken for granted. .
3. Avoid questions
An opportunist friend always wants to know much about you but will tell you nothing about him/her. They will avoid at all cost those questions to the extent of avoiding you but will reappear again and start to ask you everything about your previous and present life that you didn't answer before. Always wants to know each and every detail.
4. Look for sympathy
An opportunist friend if happens to share his/her past with you most likely to have nothing good to say. Always acts to be victimized with every situation and everyone. They make you feel like you are the first nicest person to come across into their lives. Once you see a friend like that, the chances your friend is an opportunist friend is huge.

An opportunist friends have so many excuses and apologies. For any little thing will come up with a new excuse and apologize for not doing that. Once you see so many excuses at the beginning of your friendship the chance is that your friend is no good friend at all but an opportunist friend
5. Competition
An opportunist friend will like mostly want to compete with you more than support. Once they get to know you and get what they want they will start to try to out do you. But you can make sure you don't fall victim to the opportunity mind games learn how to spot them ten miles away. Trust your instinct and if you think you have any opportunist friends cut them off your life if you can't try not to share your good news with them. Try not to share you goals and ambitious with them.
6. Never Say Goodbye
An opportunist friend once gets what he/she wants or if feels that you don't have what he/she was looking for will never say goodbye. They are quick to get in and quick to get out and once they decide to end the friendship will never return your calls or messages. They will just disappear from you with no explanation as at that time all their eyes are on someone else.
So have you met the opportunist yet?
